Munshaat and Accor sign deal for 834-room Pullman hotel in Madinah

Accor HotelServices Middle East, a hospitality group, and Munshaat for Projects & Contracting Co., a real estate development company, have signed a management agreement for a new upscale Pullman hotel in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, to be known as the ZamZam Pullman Madinah. The five-star hotel will consist of two towers, with a total of 834 rooms and suites.
The ZamZam Pullman Madinah is located in close proximity (150 meters) to the Holy Mosque. Tower A will feature standard rooms (321 keys) and three different types of suites (70, 80 and 138 keys respectively). Tower B houses 200 standard rooms and 25 suites. The project also features an open-all-day restaurant, roof top restaurant and a café lounge. The hotel also has a terrace and a 150 square meter meeting room.
Construction of the ZamZam Pullman is at advanced stage and is scheduled to be opened by September 2014, in time for the Hajj season, the Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah.
Christophe Landais, Chief Operating Officer for Accor HotelServices Middle East, said: “The Kingdom is and has been an important market for Accor for nearly 30 years, offering strong growth opportunities given the huge increase in religious tourism, especially in the cities of Makkah and Madinah, which welcomes millions of pilgrims each year,” he added.
Accor currently has 14 hotels under development in Saudi Arabia, which will add nearly 2,700 keys across all segments. These developments will double the number of properties Accor operates in the country to 28, representing more than 6,500 keys.
