Trend following is an investment strategy based on the technical analysis of market prices, rather than on the fundamental strengths of the companies. It tries to take advantage of long, medium and short-term moves that seem to play out in various financial markets. The strategy aims to work on the market trend mechanism and is intended to be capable of making profits from both theups and downs of the markets. Traders who use this approach can use current market price calculation, moving averages and channel breakouts to determine the general direction of the market and to generate trade signals (Forex Signals). Traders who employ this strategy do not aim to forecast or predict specific price levels; they simply jump on the trend and ride it. Due to the different techniques and time frames employed by trend followers to identify trends, trend followers as a group are not always correlated to one another.
Trend following is most commonly associated with the profession of commodity trading advisors as the predominant strategy of technical traders. Dr. Galen Burghardt, an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, researched the relative impact of trend following funds in the CTA business. By tracking a subset of trend following CTAs and comparing that subset them with a broader CTA index (from the period 2000-2009), Dr. Burghardt measured a correlation of .97 between the two groups, showing how large the impact of trend following is in the CTA business.

Trend following ( استخدام التحليل الفني ) :​

ملاحقة المؤشر او الترند هو استراتيجية الاستثمار على أساس التحليل الفني لأسعار السوق، بدلا من التركيز على نقاط التحليل الأساسية للشركات.
فهو محاولة الاستفادة منه ومن التداولات طويلة الاجل ومتوسطة وقصيرة الأجل التي يبدو أنها تتحكم في الأسواق المالية المختلفة وتهدف الاستراتيجية إلى العمل على آلية اتجاه السوق ويقصد به أن يكون قادرا على تحقيق أرباح من كل من الصعود والهبوط في الأسواق.
ويمكن للمستثمرين والمضاربين الذين يستخدمون هذا النهج باستخدام حساب سعر السوق الحالي والمتوسطات المتحركة وقنوات التحرك لتحديد الاتجاه العام للسوق عند ظهور مؤشرات الارباح .
المستثمرين الذين يستخدمون هذه الاستراتيجية لا يتستهدفون التنبؤ أو التوقع بمستويات أسعار محددة، بل ببساطة القفز على هذا الاتجاه وركوبه ويكون ذلك بواسطة استخدام التقنيات المختلفة والأطر الزمنية التي يتم استخدامها لتحديد الاتجاهات.


رأي شخصي ومتواضع من متداول بسيط :
انا برايي ان هذه الطريقه يجب الاستعانه بها بنسبه محدوده جدا عند اتخاذ القرارات بالشراء والبيع
لأنه يتم استخدامها في اسواقنا أحيانا من قبل كبار المضاربين وبعض المحافظ للمضاربه ولتضليل واصطياد صغار المساهمين .

بإختصار شديد: هو إسلوب تداول يعتمد على إدارة المحفظة كعامل أساسي. هذا المنهج مايعترف بالتحليل الفني ولا الأساسي, إشارة الدخول و الخروج جدا بسيطة و تعتمد على خروج سعر السهم من أسعار معينة. وقف الخسارة من أهم عناصر إدارة المحفظة.
