Sarraf Gentile LLP Announces Class Action Lawsuit Against Host America Corp.
NEW YORK, NY, Aug 10, 2005 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- The Law Firm of Sarraf Gentile LLP today announced that a securities class action has been commenced on behalf of those who acquired the securities of Host America Corp. ("Host America" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: CAFE) between July 12, 2005 through July 22, 2005 (the "Class Period"). A case is pending in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut against the Company and certain of its officers and directors.
Host America provides food service management and energy conservation systems. On July 12, 2005, the Company announced a deal with Wal-Mart to provide it with an energy efficient lighting system. That announcement contained material misrepresentations concerning the Company's business relationship with Wal-Mart. As a result of that announcement, the value of the Company's stock, which opened at $4.25 on July 12, 2005, prior to the announcement, closed at $6.35, after reaching a high of $7.47. Over the next eight trading days the Company's stock price reached a high of $16.88 on July 19, 2005. The action further alleges that defendants and employees of Host America profited from those misrepresentations, selling over $6.92 million of Host America securities during the Class Period.
No class has yet been certified in the above action. Until a class is certified, you are not represented by counsel unless you retain one.
