A Message From The Editor
Welcome to the Before the Bell Newsmail from

Stocks are expected to open higher on Monday as investors look for cheapened issues after three consecutive days of losses. However, persistent fears of a rate hike in the United States may keep a lid on any gains.
On the economic front, two reports are due.
The Institute of Supply Management will release its April manufacturing index, which is expected to rise. Also, U.S. spending on new construction is expected to have risen 0.5 percent in March after slipping 0.1 percent in February. Both reports are due at 10:00 a.m.
There was a major holiday in London on Monday so there was no significant trading in U.S. Treasuries there. The dollar was little changed in holiday-thinned trading in Europe as traders were wary due to rate fears.
